Understanding Score Transfers
Because geology is a mobile profession, candidates often take the Fundamentals of Geology (FG) or Practice of Geology (PG) exam in one state and later apply for licensure in another. The **Examination Score Request** process enables candidates and licensees to transfer their official national scores between jurisdictions.
How to Transfer Your Scores
- Contact the Administering Board: You must contact the State Geology Licensing Board that originally administered your examinations. ASBOG® does not store individual official transcripts for transfer and cannot release score details directly to you.
- Submit a Local Request: The original board will have a specific "Score Transfer Request" form and may charge a nominal processing fee to verify your examination records.
- Verification and Delivery: Once processed, the administering board will send a certified score verification letter directly to your new State Licensing Board, completing the transfer.
To request your scores, you can fill out our structured online form:

1. No Direct Release: ASBOG® does not release scores directly to candidates. Examination results are reported exclusively to the State Member Boards.
2. Scaled Scores: Your score report will show a scaled score (where 70 is the minimum passing score across all jurisdictions). The raw score (number of correct answers) is not used for official licensing decisions.
